APC Repaid Me Evil for Good, Okorocha Laments
Former Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has decried the ill treatment he received from the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite all he did to build the party in the south east geopolitical zone.
Okorocha, who also represents Imo West senatorial district in the National Assembly, said he was being witch-hunted by the party. The senator stated this on Tuesday in Abuja when he addressed newsmen on his suspension from the party by the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC). He said his support for president Muhammadu Buhari and the APC in the south east brought him scorn from his people.
“If anything, the party repaid me evil for good. There was no challenge I did not face or bad name I was not called in my state
“They brought in people who fought me when I was building the party at the state level to fight me over the control of the party.
I don’t want to talk about it but my party did not treat me well.
“I have never thought of leaving the party but what happens next will be determined by time. My only worry is that the party may disappear with the exit of President Buhari if the ongoing injustices are not addressed”, Okorocha said.
On the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he said it was all masterminded by his successor in office, Emeka Ihedioha.
“I have thrown a challenge to any bank who feels that I have borrowed money from it on behalf of Imo state to come and contradict me” he said.
