APC Best-Organized and Most Sensible Party in Nigeria — Peter Obi Supporter, Sam Amadi

Public affairs analyst and former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the best-organized and most sensible political party in Nigeria.

Amadi, a known supporter of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, made the remark on Tuesday in a post on X while reacting to the defection of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Mbah had announced his defection during a statewide broadcast, stating that the move was to align Enugu State with the central government and ensure better collaboration for development.

Reacting to the development, Amadi said he did not fault Mbah’s decision to leave the PDP, arguing that the party had brought about its own collapse through overdependence on the financial influence of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

According to Amadi, the PDP destroyed itself by prioritizing money politics over genuine leadership and internal democracy. He emphasized that while the APC has its flaws, particularly in the choice of its presidential candidate, it remains the most structured and coherent political organization in the country.

“The APC is the best organized and most sensible party in Nigeria, but it has a bad presidential candidate. The PDP destroyed itself because of its love for Wike’s money,” Amadi wrote.

He also reaffirmed his belief that Labour Party’s Peter Obi is the most capable leader to steer Nigeria toward progress but questioned which political platform the former Anambra governor could now rely on.

“Peter Obi is the best person to save Nigeria now, but which party will he use?” Amadi added.
