Another UK-Based Nigerian Found Dead at Workplace, Family Seeks Support
A 37-year-old Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, Ademola Oke, has been found dead at his workplace, marking the third reported death involving a UK-based Nigerian this month.
According to details shared in a GoFundMe appeal launched by family friend Adejonwo Odutola, Oke died suddenly on April 18 after leaving home in good health and remaining in contact with his wife throughout the day.
Odutola said Oke was later discovered unresponsive at his workplace by a colleague arriving for a night shift. Emergency responders were contacted immediately, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding his death were described as sudden and unexpected.
The deceased is survived by his wife, 31, and their two children, aged six and two.
A fundraising campaign has been launched to support funeral arrangements and provide financial assistance for the family, particularly the children. As of the time of reporting, £4,509 had been raised toward an £8,000 goal.
In the appeal, Odutola described Oke as a devoted husband and father whose death has left his family in shock.
The incident adds to a series of recent deaths involving Nigerians in the UK. Earlier in April, reports emerged of another Nigerian, identified simply as Herbert, who was reportedly found dead in his apartment in Thornaby, days after the death of a Nigerian mother of three who died from cancer.
