Another Gospel Singer Dies Days After Omije Ojumi
The Nigerian gospel music community is mourning again following the death of gospel singer Taye Ojesina, widely known as TJass.
The news was confirmed on Friday by fellow gospel singer Olaniyi Olusegun Peters, who announced the passing on his social media page. In his post, Peters described TJass as a fellow music minister and expressed sorrow over the loss.
As of the time of this report, details surrounding the cause and circumstances of TJass’ death have not been disclosed.
TJass’ passing comes just 11 days after the death of another gospel singer, Bunmi Akinaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi. Akinaanu was known for her worship song “Omije Ojumi,” which gained wide recognition within gospel circles.
Reports indicated that Akinaanu had been dealing with a health challenge that kept her away from public activities for some time. Her death prompted widespread concern and prayers on social media, especially amid discussions about efforts to secure medical support for her condition.
The close timing of both deaths has left many within the gospel music community expressing shock and grief.
