Anambra Umuada Stopped from Attacking Woman Whose S€x Tape Went Viral

A tense scene unfolded in an Anambra community when members of the Umuada, a traditional group of first daughters, attempted to confront a woman whose sex tape with a married man recently went viral. The woman, who runs a stall in the local marketplace, became the focus of the group’s public display, which involved brandishing symbolic items in what appeared to be a traditional act of protest or shaming.

The situation was quickly defused by local villagers who intervened, preventing the group from escalating the incident. They challenged the Umuada’s right to carry out such actions in a community that is not their own, stressing that customary protocol must be followed.

According to local tradition, the Umuada were required to first submit a formal notice to the village authorities. Only after the matter is reviewed by the local leadership can any action be approved. With this reminder, the group was turned away and told to follow due process if they intended to pursue the issue further.
