Anambra State Government Seals Shrine Linked to Okeite, Yahoo Plus in Okija
The Anambra State government has sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, allegedly operated by self-proclaimed native doctor Ekene Igboegbueze for supernatural wealth-making practices.
Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, led men of Operation Udo Ga-Achi to shut down the shrine following multiple complaints from residents about Igboegbueze’s activities. The government’s decision was also influenced by an online video in which Igboegbueze openly admitted to practicing Oke Ite, Yahoo Plus, and Awele, acts that violate Anambra State Homeland Security Laws.
Emeakayi further revealed that all properties acquired by the suspect through the alleged illegal activities have also been sealed. Items recovered from the shrine will undergo forensic analysis, which will determine further government action against him.
Director of Operations for Agunechemba Security Outfit, Chinenye Ihenko, condemned the rise of fraudulent native doctors and pastors who fuel a get-rich-quick mentality in the state. He urged young people to refrain from patronizing such individuals, warning that they thrive on deception.
