Anambra Government Shuts Down School Over Unsafe Learning Conditions
The Anambra State Government has sealed Great Mind Academy in Awka after officials declared the facility unfit for students.
The closure order followed an inspection led by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, who visited the school on Tuesday. The academy operates behind the old Government House in the state capital.
According to the commissioner, the environment failed to meet basic standards for teaching and learning. She emphasized that the state would not allow pupils to remain in spaces considered hazardous.
She added that the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade had been directed to enforce the shutdown immediately.
