Anambra Authorities Detain Popular Native Doctor in Nnewi
Anambra State Government has taken into custody De Young Chief Priest, a well-known native doctor from Nnewi, identified as “Aka Mmuo Mmiri Afulu Anya,” over allegations of illegal practices.
The arrest occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2026, as part of a wider effort by state security agencies targeting traditional practitioners suspected of producing charms for criminal activities.
The Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS) reports that the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation. The government has not yet disclosed the full scope of the allegations.
