All Passengers Killed as Police Plane Crashes into Sea
A devastating plane crash off the coast of Cha-am, Thailand, has claimed the lives of all six people on board. The small aircraft, carrying police officers, plunged into the Gulf of Thailand near Hua Hin Airport around 8:25 AM local time on Friday, April 25.
The Royal Thai Police confirmed the aircraft was on a test flight as part of preparations for a parachute jump training exercise. All passengers, including the pilot, were members of the police force. Four officers died on impact, while the remaining two were pronounced dead shortly after, despite emergency medical efforts. One of them, believed to be the pilot, was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Photographs from the scene show wreckage floating in the water and emergency crews working urgently to retrieve the victims and investigate the crash site. Witnesses, including local fishermen, contacted authorities after watching the aircraft nosedive into the sea approximately 100 metres from shore, near the Baby Grand Cha-am Resort.
Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the national chief, travelled immediately to the scene and pledged full support to the victims’ families. “The families of the victims will be closely supported and funeral arrangements will be made for them. I have ordered a detailed investigation into the cause of the crash,” he said.
The names of those killed have not yet been released, and the specific model of the aircraft involved has not been disclosed. The incident adds to a string of fatal aviation tragedies this year, including a helicopter crash in New York that killed a family of five and the death of renowned stunt pilot Rob Holland in Virginia.
