Air Peace Responds to Surging Demand, Increases Capacity for Lagos-London Route
Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has announced a significant increase in capacity for its Lagos-London route, attributing the decision to a surge in demand from travelers.
The announcement was made through the airline’s official Facebook account on Wednesday, offering travelers interested in flying to London with Air Peace additional options to choose from.
In the statement, Air Peace expressed gratitude to both the Nigerian and United Kingdom populations for their unwavering support, assuring customers of their commitment to upholding the nation’s pride.
The airline marked its inaugural flight to London with 260 passengers aboard a Boeing 777, boasting a capacity of 274 seats, on Saturday. The route is now set to be served daily from Lagos.
The move has notably disrupted market dynamics, prompting foreign airlines that previously monopolized the route to reconsider their pricing strategies.
CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, disclosed that tickets for Lagos-London flights with his company were already sold out until September, reflecting the overwhelming demand for the route.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Onyema revealed that the airline currently operates over 30 aircraft and has placed orders for an additional 33, with plans to expand its fleet to over 60 aircraft in the near future.
The increase in capacity signifies Air Peace’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between Lagos and London, promising enhanced accessibility and convenience for passengers.
