Air Chief Orders Nigerian Air Force Commanders to Intensify Strikes Against Terrorists
Air Chief Marshal Sunday Aneke has summoned air component commanders of the Nigerian Air Force to Abuja, directing them to intensify operations against terrorists and criminal elements across the country. The high-level meeting at the NAF headquarters focused on recalibrating the force’s strategy under the new leadership, with a strong emphasis on precision, intelligence-driven operations, and inter-service coordination.
Speaking to journalists, NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame described the session as a platform to harmonize strategies, strengthen collaboration with other security agencies, and ensure the Air Force remains a decisive tool for national security. Air Marshal Aneke urged commanders to “fly smarter and strike harder” to neutralize threats while protecting lives and property. He highlighted the need for synchronized air, land, and maritime operations to achieve joint mission success and stressed that every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism.
The air chief also reassured personnel of his commitment to their welfare, training, and operational effectiveness, promising innovation and technology will be prioritized to enhance mission success. He emphasized that the NAF will continue to uphold international standards of conduct and accountability while applying decisive force against those who threaten national security.
Commanders were instructed to translate strategic plans into concrete actions, maintain operational momentum, and ensure that every sortie delivers measurable impact. The engagement reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to protecting Nigerians, supporting its personnel, and strengthening both domestic and international confidence in Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts.
