Again, Dangote Denies Lowering Cement Prices Amid Social Media Rumours
In response to recent social media reports, Dangote Cement PLC has vehemently denied any reduction in the price of its 50kg bag of cement. Contrary to online claims, the company has not initiated a promotional price of N2410 per bag, effective October 9.
This rebuttal comes hot on the heels of a recent move by BUA Cement to reduce its prices from N5,000 to N3,500, just a week prior.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Post, Anthony Chiejina, the Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, categorically refuted the alleged sales promotion. Chiejina condemned the online report, labeling it as “misleading, mischievous, malicious, and false,” and indicated that legal action would be taken against those responsible.
In an official statement provided to newsmen, Chiejina reiterated that Dangote Cement Plc has not initiated any sales promotion or adjusted its prices as reported. He further disclosed that the company has formally engaged law enforcement agencies to identify and bring to justice the individuals behind the dissemination of what he termed “devious and deceptive information.”
Chiejina urged Dangote’s loyal customers to continue supporting the brand while remaining vigilant against potential scammers seeking to defraud them of their hard-earned money.
It is worth noting that, as of now, a bag of Dangote Cement is being sold in Ogun and Lagos States at prices ranging between N5,000 and N5,500.
