Hauwa’u Sulaiman, a 34year old housewife, has given birth to a set of quadruplets in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Hauwa’u who already has 13 children said this was her 8th delivery.
She said, she however lost one of the babies, a male, as the babies were being transferred from Gambo Sawaha General Hospital to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria for better care.
The Husband, Mohammed Sulaiman, a driver was very thankful to God for the gift of the babies.
He however said, when need be his senior brother was always there to render him necessary assistance.
The family was reported to have had a set of triplets twice, a set of twins twice and three other babies at different times, before the recent quadruplets.
It was however gathered that such births in the family was hereditary, as Mohammed’s mother was said to have confirmed that she had had a set of twins on 3 different occasions.
She further said, Mohammed’s grandmother and grandfather were one of a set of triplets and a twin respectively.
The leading consultant in the pediatric unit of ABUTH, Isa Abdulkadir confirmed that the 3 babies were in good condition.
In the same vein, Hauwa’u said “I am very healthy and strong, but the doctors have advised that I need to be monitored very well before I can be discharged.”
