“ADC Will Conduct Clean, Verifiable Elections” – David Mark
The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has pledged that the party will conduct clean, transparent, and verifiable elections across all levels.
Speaking during the opposition coalition’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, Mark said the ADC was determined to ensure credibility in its membership registration and primary election processes.
In a statement released after the meeting, Mark outlined the party’s reform agenda aimed at promoting accountability, inclusion, and service-driven governance. He said the ADC would adopt digital, verifiable systems for membership and primaries, conduct rigorous screening of candidates before nomination, and publish quarterly performance scorecards.
Mark added that ADC-led governments would operate on a “citizens first” principle, guided by service charters with clear timelines, public dashboards, and accessible feedback mechanisms.
He further emphasized that the party would promote dignity and inclusion by creating standing councils for workers, women, youth, farmers, professionals, retirees, persons with disabilities, and other interest groups—ensuring they play an active role in shaping policies and programs.
According to Mark, the ADC will also defend the separation of powers, restore legislative and judicial independence, and strengthen oversight systems to guarantee that public resources serve national interests.
He concluded that the party would put an end to parallel budgets and extra-budgetary practices by enforcing transparent planning, timely appropriations, and rigorous auditing.
Mark said these steps form part of the ADC’s broader mission to build a credible and accountable political system that prioritizes citizens over politics.
