ADC Faction Protests in Abuja, Accuses Top Politicians of Interference
Supporters of a faction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) staged a protest on Thursday in Abuja, accusing prominent politicians of interfering in the party’s internal affairs.
The demonstrators, led by factional National Chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe, gathered in the capital carrying placards and chanting slogans. They called for the party to be allowed to manage its leadership and structure without external influence.
During the protest, participants named several high-profile political figures — David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso — urging them to stay out of the party’s affairs. The group argued that the ADC should remain independent and not be influenced by individuals they described as non-core members.
Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives, was present at the protest and expressed support for the demonstrators.
