Access Bank Staff Caught Secretly Filming Female Colleagues in Restroom

A former staff member of Access Bank’s contact centre in Oniru, Lagos State, Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, has been accused of secretly recording his female colleagues while they used the restroom. According to a report by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), Ejezie, who worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist, was caught inside the women’s restroom around 1:30 am last Wednesday.

Sources revealed that staff at the contact centre, which operates on a shift basis, often sleep, shower, and change clothes at the office. It was during one of these shifts that Ejezie allegedly attempted to install a hidden recording device in the women’s restroom. The situation came to light when a female staff member raised an alarm after noticing a phone pointed towards her from a neighboring toilet cubicle while she was bathing. Ejezie was immediately apprehended.

Following his arrest, Access Bank reportedly authorised a search of Ejezie’s residence, leading to the discovery of over 400 compromising video clips. However, despite the severity of the findings, Ejezie has since been released, sparking concern and outrage among staff members who now fear they may not receive justice.

Further investigations by FIJ revealed that Ejezie had stored numerous videos capturing both male and female colleagues in various stages of undress. Sources also alleged that he had been selling these videos via platforms such as OnlyFans and Telegram, with buyers reportedly including foreign nationals.

The bank’s muted response to the incident, coupled with Ejezie’s release, has led to speculation that efforts may be underway to downplay the scandal to protect Access Bank’s public image. During a Friday morning meeting, management addressed the situation and announced a new policy prohibiting overnight stays at the office.

“We are traumatised, and there is no support being provided. People have the right to know if they were recorded so they are not haunted by this in the future,” one affected staff member said.
