Abuja Police Storm Kidnappers’ Hideout, Rescue Seven Victims
Police in Abuja have successfully dismantled a kidnapping syndicate following a raid on their hideout in Ushafa, rescuing seven victims in the process. The operation, which involved a joint team of the FCT Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Army, and the DSS, came after a distress report that armed men had invaded a community in Ushafa and abducted several residents.
Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the security team acted on credible intelligence to track the suspects from the outskirts of Mpape into settlements stretching towards Kagarko LGA in Kaduna State. When the kidnappers encountered the security operatives, they opened fire, prompting a fierce gun duel.
Security forces returned fire with overwhelming force, dislodging the criminals from their hideout and rescuing the seven kidnapped individuals.
