Abbo Dares Senate Probe Panel
The Senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district, Senator Elisha Abbo on Tuesday told the Senate Ad Hoc Committee investigating allegation of assaulting a nursing murder at a sex toy shop in Abuja that he cannot be threatened by suspension.
Abbo who appeared before the Committee refused to answer any question claiming that the matter is already in court and talking about it will be subjudice unless the Committee goes into closed-door session.
The lawmakers told Abbo that he cannot dictate to the committee but he remained unfazed.
A member of the Committee and wife of a former governor of Lagos state , Senator Remi Tinubu drew the ire of the embattled Abbo when she told him that he can be suspended if he refuses to answer questions thrown at him.
An enraged Abbo retorted, “You cannot threaten me with suspension. It is not out of place for me to say I am not addressing the press (media). I came because I received a text message from the committee. I will not talk to the media. I should address the committee in a closed door session.”
The Panel, however, acceded to Abbo’s demands and went into closed-door session.
