60-Year-Old Nigerian Woman Murdered in London, Linked to Mysterious Death of 20-Year-Old
A 60-year-old Nigerian woman, Nkiru Chima, has been confirmed dead after being found with multiple stab wounds at a home in Bushy Close, Romford, East London. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 27, prompting a response from Metropolitan Police officers following a welfare call around 7pm.
Ms. Chima was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives have now linked her death to that of a 20-year-old man who was discovered earlier the same day on the train tracks at Romford station. Authorities have stated that the man was known to Ms. Chima.
“We are confident both deaths are connected,” said Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation. The young man’s death is being investigated by British Transport Police, while the Metropolitan Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding Ms. Chima’s murder.
No arrests have been made at this time, and police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation. “We are grateful to the community for their support so far,” Yorke added. “Our thoughts remain with Nkiru’s family at this difficult time.”
The victim’s family is receiving support from specially trained officers as inquiries continue.
