A shocking incident has unfolded in the Ejigbo area of Lagos, where a 17-year-old boy, Adeolu Olubade, was found dead and buried in a shallow grave within an apartment on Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street. The discovery has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect believed to be connected to the crime.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and provided details of the investigation to PUNCH Online on Thursday. According to reports, the tragic event is suspected to have occurred between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on September 2, 2024.
The deceased’s family identified the suspect, a resident of the same address, and alerted authorities on the morning of September 3. A team of detectives was immediately dispatched to the scene, where they exhumed the boy’s body from the shallow grave after photographing the crime scene.
“The body has been taken to Isolo General Hospital for a postmortem examination,” Hundeyin stated. He also confirmed that a shovel, believed to have been used to bury the victim, was recovered and registered as evidence. The suspect is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Alagbon for further questioning and investigation.
