Why We Sealed Tinubu Campaign Office in Abia — Gov Otti
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has explained the recent sealing of the Renewed Hope Agenda office on Ojike Street, Umuahia, clarifying that the action was not politically motivated. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Ukoha, Otti said the state’s Harmonised Task Force carried out the closure as part of a broader enforcement of court orders, not as a political maneuver.
The governor noted that following intervention by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, he ordered that the property be unsealed. The statement emphasized that the enforcement targeted properties in default of statutory obligations and urged the public not to assign political motives to the task force’s activities.
“The unsealing was promptly executed pending the regularisation of the building’s documentation,” the statement said. It added that the property owner had failed to respond to notices requesting proof of compliance with ground rent payments and other related charges.
