Video: Fubara Dismisses Rift With Lawmakers, Composes Support Song for Tinubu

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed claims of a rift with federal and state lawmakers from the state, describing suggestions of strained relations as unfounded. Speaking at the commissioning of the extended and dualised 28.4-kilometre Ahoada–Omoku Road on Wednesday, Fubara said arrangements had already been made for a meeting with the lawmakers, coordinated by his predecessor and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, elder statesman Ferdinand Alabraba, and other leaders. He emphasized that anyone alleging he declined to meet the lawmakers or rejected proposals concerning them “is not telling the truth.”

Fubara, who announced his defection from the PDP to the APC on Tuesday, urged Rivers residents to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu. He said his move to the APC was aimed at fostering peace in the state and promoting steady progress, rather than personal ambition. He called on citizens to reject divisive politics and remain committed to the state government and the President.

Highlighting the newly commissioned Ahoada–Omoku Road, Fubara recalled that it was a promise made during his campaign alongside Wike, and assured residents that the project would improve transportation, stimulate commerce, and enhance socio-economic conditions for communities along the route. He also noted that additional development projects are in progress across the state.
