US Airstrikes: “Remi Tinubu Now Open Enemy of Northern Muslims” – Mahdi Shehu
Mahdi Shehu has accused Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, of hostility toward Northern Muslims, following reports of her comments on U.S. military strikes in Northern Nigeria.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Shehu said the reported remarks confirmed widespread perceptions about the First Lady. “If indeed Pastor Remi said so, then it means what many people are saying about her… are either true or confirmed,” he wrote.
Shehu claimed that many Northern Muslims now view Mrs. Tinubu as an open adversary, alleging she shows no remorse for harm inflicted on Muslim communities. He also criticized her response to disasters affecting Muslims, describing it as a lack of concern.
He added that Muslims in Nigeria will continue practicing their faith regardless of political leadership or foreign military actions. “Up to the time of her death, exit from the villa, her post-villa life, there will always be Muslims in Nigeria practising Islam,” he stated.
Shehu’s remarks followed reports that Mrs. Tinubu described the Christmas Day U.S. military strikes, ordered by President Donald Trump, as a blessing and expressed anticipation of further collaboration. The comments reportedly came during an interview with Fox News while she was in the United States for the National Prayer Breakfast.
