Troops Kill 17 Terrorists, Intercept Logistics Supplies in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with local vigilantes, have killed 17 suspected terrorists during a coordinated ambush in Borno State.

The operation, which took place in the early hours of December 21, 2025, followed credible intelligence on the movement of terrorist logistics supplies by suspected JAS and ISWAP elements. Acting on the information, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters, positioned themselves at an interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of December 20.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the suspected terrorists arrived at the location at about 2:24 a.m. on bicycles, transporting logistics materials as earlier anticipated. The troops, deployed in concealed and coordinated formations, engaged them in a decisive exchange.

During the encounter, 17 terrorists were neutralized, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Troops also recovered several bicycles, assorted food items, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, torch lights, and other logistics items. Assorted weapons of different calibres and ammunition were also recovered.

The operation highlights the continued effectiveness of intelligence-driven and joint security efforts in disrupting terrorist logistics networks and weakening their operational capabilities in the North-East.
