“Tinubu is a Dwarf in Nigeria’s Political History” – Dalung
Solomon Dalung, former Minister of Sports, has described President Bola Tinubu as a “dwarf” in Nigeria’s political history, questioning his achievements on the national stage.
Speaking on Channels Television on Sunday, Dalung contrasted Tinubu’s record with that of historical leaders such as Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna) and Obafemi Awolowo, emphasizing that great leaders leave enduring legacies through tangible service to their citizens.
When asked about Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 presidential election, Dalung argued that the president’s reputation as a political strategist has not translated into improvements in Nigeria’s economy or security.
“Tinubu cannot manage insecurity, the economy, or even simple welfare initiatives meant to support economic policies,” Dalung said. “His strategies should be reflected in results, yet the economy is struggling, corruption is rising, and ordinary Nigerians see little impact from his leadership.”
Dalung also indicated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is preparing to mount a serious challenge against Tinubu in 2027. He confirmed that the party would hold a transparent primary to select a candidate, pledging full support behind the winner.
Dalung served as Minister of Sports from 2015 to 2019 under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
