Three Lagos Police Inspectors Arrested for Brutal Assault on Colleague’s Son Over Love Affair
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three inspectors for allegedly assaulting a 22-year-old man, Jacob Sunday, leaving him in a coma following an incident linked to a love affair within the police barracks. The attack reportedly occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the 22 PMF Barracks in Ogudu. According to information obtained by Zagazola Makama, the suspects—Inspector John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu, Inspector Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja, and Inspector Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja—allegedly lured the victim into their room before subjecting him to a brutal beating.
Jacob, who is the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, was accused of being in a relationship with Sarah Richard, the wife of ASP Audu Richard, also a resident of the barracks. Witnesses said the young man was stripped naked and beaten until he lost consciousness. He was later rescued by detectives and rushed to the Police College Cottage Hospital in Ikeja, where he is receiving treatment in the emergency unit.
The three officers have been taken into custody as the Lagos State Police Command launches a full investigation into the alleged assault.
