System Downtime Disrupts Flight Bookings at United Nigeria Airlines
United Nigeria Airlines is currently facing a system downtime that has disrupted its flight booking and payment services. The airline confirmed the incident on Tuesday through a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Uloka Chibuike.
“Kindly be informed that we are currently experiencing a temporary system downtime,” the statement read. “As a result, flight bookings and payment services are presently affected. Our technical team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore full services as soon as possible.”
The airline apologized to its customers for the inconvenience and expressed appreciation for their patience and understanding during the disruption.
Experts note that system downtimes in the aviation sector, whether caused by IT failures or routine maintenance challenges, can lead to significant operational disruptions, financial losses, and widespread inconvenience for travelers. A similar global IT outage in July 2024 led to the cancellation of more than 4,000 flights worldwide.
