Suspected Herdsmen Kill Two Brothers in Benue Farm Attack
Two brothers, Godwin Tyonum and Ortwer Tyonum, were reportedly killed in a suspected herdsmen attack on their farm at Tse-Lafia, near the railway line, approximately five kilometres from Daudu in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Godwin Tyonum, a recent graduate in Agribusiness from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, completed his studies last year and was awaiting mobilisation for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2026. His elder brother, Ortwer Tyonum, was a 100-level student of Entrepreneurial Education at the same university.
Eyewitnesses said the brothers were attacked with machetes while working on the farm on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Godwin was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, but later succumbed to his injuries.
