South East Governors Ban Movement of Herdsmen and Cattle, to Launch Joint Operation to Flush Out Bandits From Forests in the Region [See Full Communique]

Governors from the South East has agreed to launch a joint air operation to flush out bandits from all forests in the region.

According to the communique issued at the end of their meeting held in Enugu on Saturday, the governors who met on the platform of the South East Governors Forum, also resolved to ban movement of herdsmen and cattle from communities to communities and from one state to another within the region.

In attendance were the Forum’s chairman and the governor of Ebonyi state, Dr. Dave Umahi, the governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, and the governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha.

Others include the host governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the deputy governor of Abia state, Ude Oko Chukwu, Minister of Aviation, Hadia Sirika,the GOC 82 Division Enugu, Major Gen. Abubakar Maikobi.
