Rivers Sole Administrator Joins Governors at National Economic Council Meeting
The National Economic Council (NEC) meeting is currently underway at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with Vice President Kashim Shettima presiding. In an unexpected turn of events, Ibok-Eke Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, is among those in attendance. The meeting also sees the participation of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who recently made headlines after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Other notable governors present include Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia from Benue, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak from Kwara, Monday Okpebholo from Edo, and Bassey Otu from Cross River. Several deputy governors are also taking part in the session. The NEC, chaired by the Vice President, focuses on critical discussions concerning Nigeria’s economic landscape. Further details on the proceedings will be provided later.
