Police Arrest Suspected Ritualist Found with Human Organs in Lagos
A 25-year-old man has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly being in possession of suspected human organs in the Odomola community of Epe Local Government Area. The arrest, which took place on April 25, was carried out by officers from the Odo-Noforija Division following a tip-off from vigilant members of the public who reported the suspect’s suspicious movements.
According to a statement released on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was transporting the organs from Edo State to deliver them to a native doctor for what is believed to be a money-making ritual. The recovered organs have since been deposited at a hospital for preservation.
Hundeyin further disclosed that the case has been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for continued investigation and potential prosecution. Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh praised both the police operatives and the Odomola community for their swift action. He reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and encouraged residents to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
