Photos: Troops Rescue Kidnapped Man in Taraba, Victim Released Unharmed
Troops in Taraba State have successfully rescued a man who was kidnapped earlier this week in Lau Local Government Area, the Nigerian Army has confirmed. The operation was carried out promptly, resulting in the safe recovery of the victim without any reported injuries.
The rescued man has been identified as Alhaji Shuaibu, 40, a Fulani resident of Yelwata Community in Ardo-Kola LGA. According to reports, Shuaibu was abducted at approximately 9:05 a.m. on 11 December 2025 near Yaja village, raising concerns among local residents about security in the area.
Following the incident, troops were deployed and acted on credible human intelligence, tracking the kidnappers immediately. Their swift response led to the release of Shuaibu at around 11:00 a.m. the same day. The military emphasized that the victim was unharmed during the ordeal.
Authorities have reassured the public that the security situation in the area remains calm. They have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to prevent further incidents.
