One Year Anniversary: 50 Federal Lawmakers Storm Port Harcourt in Solidarity With Gov Fubara
In a robust show of support and solidarity, over 50 members of the House of Representatives from various political parties convened in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to mark the first anniversary of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration. The lawmakers praised Fubara’s remarkable infrastructure projects, hailing them as a “revolutionary” advancement for the state.
Governor Fubara has been celebrating his one-year tenure with a series of events spanning 20 days, highlighting his administration’s achievements. Among the notable projects inaugurated was the 10.9-kilometre Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo section of the old Port Harcourt–Bori road.
The culmination of these celebrations is set for June 2, with a thanksgiving service at Saint Paul’s Anglican Cathedral Garrison in Port Harcourt. Prominent attendees at this event included Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere (PDP, Imo State and G60 spokesperson), Hon. Sagir Koki (NNPP, Kano State, G60 co-chairman), and other distinguished lawmakers from diverse political affiliations.
Addressing the press at the thanksgiving service, Hon. Ugochinyere, the G60 spokesperson, emphasized the bipartisan nature of the support for Governor Fubara. He highlighted the governor’s achievements in infrastructure and governance, noting that these accomplishments have garnered significant national attention.
“Governor Fubara has recorded great achievements in the areas of good governance, restoration and maintenance of peace and unity, and provision of massive infrastructural projects for economic prosperity in Rivers State,” Ugochinyere stated. “Despite various distractions, he has remained focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.”
Ugochinyere underscored the extensive infrastructure projects completed during Fubara’s first year, including the inauguration of several key roads and the commissioning of the first phase of the Port Harcourt Electrical Village. These projects, he noted, had been overlooked by previous administrations but are now reaching the masses under Fubara’s leadership.
“We commend Governor Fubara for his dedication and transformative work. His administration’s focus on infrastructure is a clear indicator of more good things to come. He will always have our support,” Ugochinyere concluded.
