NYSC releases deployment details for 2026 Batch A corps members
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released deployment details for the 2026 Batch A Stream 1 prospective corps members, announcing that call-up letters are now available.
The scheme disclosed this on Monday through its official X handle. It confirmed that some prospective corps members posted to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will complete their orientation programmes in neighbouring states due to limited camp capacity.
According to the NYSC, prospective corps members deployed to Lagos may be assigned to orientation camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun and Osun states. Those posted to the FCT may attend camps in Kaduna, Niger and Nasarawa states.
The development follows earlier explanations by the scheme that accommodation constraints influenced the arrangement. The NYSC had stated that only about 40 per cent of registered prospective corps members could be accommodated for the upcoming orientation exercise.
The scheme also issued a travel advisory, urging prospective corps members not to travel at night to orientation camps. It further advised them to complete all required documentation before arrival, noting that forms must be printed and duly signed ahead of camp registration.
In a separate notice, the NYSC warned that prospective corps members with discrepancies in their records would not be registered. It specifically cited inconsistencies between the date of graduation on call-up letters and the date stated on results.
“Prospective Corps Members with discrepancies in the Date of Graduation on their call-up letters and the date on their Statement of Results will not be registered in the Orientation Camp,” the scheme said, advising affected individuals to resolve such issues with their Student Affairs Officers before reporting.
The NYSC also issued guidelines for married female prospective corps members. It stated that those not posted to the state of their husband’s domicile should report to the nearest orientation camp for registration.
For married women seeking concessional posting on marital grounds, the scheme directed that they upload a marriage certificate, their husband’s means of identification, and a letter of domicile from the husband.
The 2026 Batch A orientation course is scheduled to begin nationwide on January 21, with the NYSC reiterating that it will not tolerate any form of indiscipline during the exercise.
