Nigerian Police Detain Superintendent Over Alleged Defilement of 13-Year-Old Girl in His Office

The Nigeria Police Force in Rivers State has confirmed the arrest of a Superintendent of Police, identified as Emmanuel, attached to the Bori Police Area Command in the Khana Local Council. The officer is currently detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt following orders from Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, over allegations of defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The survivor’s relative, known as Love, revealed that the young girl went missing on Friday, January 12, only to return the next morning. Upon questioning, the adolescent disclosed a harrowing experience of being imprisoned and allegedly defiled by the police officer in his office at the Bori Area Command until dawn.

Reportedly, the girl claimed that the officer had threatened to harm her if she raised an alarm during the incident. Love, who made the revelation, examined the girl and found signs of violation. Subsequently, the disturbing incident was reported to the Bori Police Division.

The investigating police officer (IPO) promptly took the survivor to the hospital, where a medical examination revealed a ruptured hymen and injuries in her private parts. The detained Superintendent now faces serious charges as authorities conduct a thorough investigation into this distressing case of alleged abuse within the police force.
