Naira Ends Week on Positive Note with Slight Appreciation Against Dollar
The naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market, concluding the week positively. According to FMDQ data, the naira gained slightly, closing at N1600 per dollar on Friday, up from N1601.20 on Thursday.
This marks the second consecutive day of appreciation for the naira during the week. However, it is important to note that the currency experienced a decline on three separate occasions throughout the week.
Compared to last Friday’s exchange rate of N1600.78 per dollar, the naira recorded a gain of N0.78 by the end of this week.
In contrast, the black market saw the naira weaken, losing N15 to close at N1740 per dollar, after starting the week at N1725.
