My Husband not a Magician, Remi Tinubu Tells Nigerians
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, emphasized that her husband, President Tinubu, is not a magician, but he is committed to working tirelessly to tackle the myriad of challenges inherited by his administration. She made these remarks during an interdenominational church service in Abuja, commemorating Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary under the theme “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Mrs. Tinubu reiterated the President’s determination to repair the damage inflicted upon the nation, emphasizing the importance of good governance and the embodiment of Christian values. She encouraged Nigerians to embrace hope and unity in the face of current realities, highlighting the need to draw inspiration from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
She stated, “A Nigeria of abundance has begun, and to be part of the greatness that God has started in the nation, Nigerians must look beyond their current realities and embrace hope anew.”
Addressing the President’s efforts to seek international support and investment, she reassured Nigerians that consultations with the global community and investors were ongoing to reposition the country. She acknowledged that the challenges faced by Nigeria were not solely the fault of the current administration but were inherited from years past.
“My husband is not a magician; he is going to work, and I believe and hope that we will have peace in this country; the best is yet to come to us,” Mrs. Tinubu affirmed.
The Guest Preacher, Rev. Israel Akanji, President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, offered words of encouragement, assuring Nigerians that they would overcome their present challenges. He appreciated President Tinubu’s Independence Anniversary address and called upon all branches of the government to fulfill their promises to the nation.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, urged Nigerians to exercise patience as the government works to address complex problems. He emphasized that solutions would take time but assured the public that measures were being implemented to address these issues effectively.
As Nigeria marks its 63rd Independence Anniversary, the First Lady’s words echo the government’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges and fostering hope for a better future.
