Missing 12-Year-Old’s Mutilated Body Found in Ogun Community

The lifeless body of 12-year-old John Soyinka, who had been missing for a week, was discovered in Kotogbo community within Asero Estate, Abeokuta. The grim revelation came on Monday, shocking the local residents.

Soyinka had been reported missing at the Obantoko Police Station a week ago, sparking concerns in the community. Investigations revealed that the young boy went missing after attempting to follow up with a customer who had previously conducted a PoS transaction at a local shop where he assisted.

An anonymous resident disclosed, “The boy and his mother lived at Olasunkanmi community, and so the Community Development Association reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer at Obantoko Station. The DPO informed the police at Adigbe and Lafenwa, but it was the boy’s lifeless body that was found at Kotogbo community just beside Olasunkanmi on Monday.”

The circumstances surrounding the tragedy suggest a possible case of ritual killing, as the boy’s eyes were reportedly plucked out, and his wrists severed. This brutal act has plunged the residents into mourning, leaving the community in shock and grief.

The State Police Command, when contacted for a response, deferred comments, with the spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, stating that she would check into the matter and provide further information. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of children in the area and sparked discussions on the need for increased security measures.
