Military Operation Neutralizes Bandits’ Stronghold in Zamfara: Rescues Kidnapped Victims
The military’s Joint Task Force North-West Operation Hadarin Daji reported the successful neutralization of scores of bandits and the rescue of eight kidnapped victims on February 28, 2024.
According to Lt. Col. Suleiman Omale, the Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, the operation involved a fierce gun duel with the terrorists. The superior fighting power of the troops forced the bandits to flee in disarray, abandoning their captives. The gallant troops not only neutralized a substantial number of terrorists but also destroyed their enclaves, establishing control through aggressive and confidence-building patrols in the area.
All rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for reunification with their respective families. Maj. Gen. Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of the Joint Task Force and General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their unwavering dedication and resilience in the ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the North-West region.
Zamfara State has been severely impacted by the menace of banditry, making this successful military operation a crucial step towards enhancing security in the area.
