Kwara Miyetti Allah Leaders Arrested Over Alleged Bandit Sponsorship
Authorities in Kwara State have arrested Idris Abubakar, President of the state chapter of Miyetti Allah, along with other leaders, on allegations of supporting armed bandit groups and involvement in kidnapping operations, according to reports from *The Nation*.
Investigations suggest that Abubakar reportedly admitted to facilitating several kidnappings linked to bandit networks operating in the region.
A security official commented on the arrests, saying, “These are men over 60 years old, individuals who should be voices of peace, now accused of fueling terror and violence. This case highlights a serious breach of moral responsibility by certain leaders and requires full legal accountability.”
Authorities have emphasized that the investigation targets specific individuals and does not implicate the broader community.
