Katsina Governor Radda Donates $10,000 for Mosque Reconstruction in Niger Republic

 

 

The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has made a significant gesture by donating $10,000 to support the reconstruction of a mosque in Damagaram, Niger Republic. This contribution was announced by the governor’s special adviser on political matters, Ya’u Umar Gwajo-gwaj, during a press briefing on Friday.

 

Governor Radda’s donation is intended to aid in rebuilding the mosque to a modern standard, according to the adviser. He emphasized the cultural and religious importance of the project, stating that the mosque will play a crucial role in promoting Islamic moral values and addressing social issues within the community.

 

“This mosque will contribute towards instilling Islamic moral discipline in our people, and it will assist in addressing many social ills in our society,” Gwajo-gwaj explained on behalf of the governor.

 

Governor Radda also highlighted the shared heritage between the people of Katsina and Niger, noting that they are “one people separated by artificial borders.” He expressed the need for stronger ties and collaborative efforts to tackle common challenges.

 

Katsina State, like many areas in Nigeria’s North-West, continues to grapple with banditry and insecurity, with criminal groups involved in kidnapping and violence despite ongoing government interventions.
