JUST IN: Tinubu Nominates Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Six Others as Ministers in Cabinet Reshuffle (Full List)
President Bola Tinubu has officially kick-started a long-anticipated cabinet reshuffle with the nomination of seven new ministers for Senate confirmation. Among those nominated is Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who has been proposed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
In a major shake-up, the President also re-assigned 10 ministers to new portfolios and terminated the appointments of five others. Key changes include the nomination of Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, succeeding suspended Betta Edu. Other nominees include Maigari Dingyadi for Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole for Minister of Industry, and Idi Maiha for the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development.
Additionally, Yusuf Ata has been nominated as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, while Suwaiba Ahmad is set to take the role of Minister of State for Education.
Among the outgoing ministers are Uju-Ken Ohanenye, formerly of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-John of Tourism, Tahir Mamman of Education, Abdullahi Gwarzo of Housing and Urban Development, and Jamila Ibrahim of Youth Development.
