JUST IN: State Governor Sacks Commissioner for Women Affairs
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko of her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.
The directive, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Sunday in a statement signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. The statement described the move as a minor adjustment to the composition of the State Executive Council.
No reason was given for her removal. However, Governor Mohammed commended Hajiya Takko for her service to the state and wished her success in her future endeavors.
Hajiya Takko was sworn in as commissioner on September 9, 2024. Prior to her appointment to the State Executive Council, she served as the caretaker chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area, a position she assumed in July 2023 following her appointment by the governor.
