JUST IN: Popular Nigerian Sheikh Is Dead
Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of Nigeria’s most respected Islamic scholars and a leading figure in the Tijjaniyya order, has died in Kaduna following a prolonged illness. He was over 100 years old.
Family sources confirmed his passing on Wednesday, marking the end of a life dedicated to Islamic scholarship and religious leadership. The news was shared on social media by former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad, who expressed deep sorrow and prayed for the acceptance of Sheikh Dahiru’s deeds and forgiveness for his shortcomings.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was widely recognized for his influence within Nigeria’s Muslim community, guiding followers and contributing to religious discourse for decades. His death is seen as a significant loss to the nation’s Islamic scholarly community.
