JUST IN: Nigerian Foreign Minister Meets Burkina Faso Leader Over Forced Aircraft Landing
Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Burkina Faso junta leader Ibrahim Traoré on Wednesday in Ouagadougou, the capital city.
Tuggar led a Nigerian delegation to discuss the recent incident involving a Nigerian military aircraft that was forced to land in Burkina Faso. The minister stated at a press conference that the diplomatic mission was directed by President Bola Tinubu.
The meeting comes nearly two weeks after 11 Nigerian soldiers aboard the aircraft remained in Burkina Faso following the unexpected landing.
