JUST IN: NAPTIP Declares Speed Darlington Wanted Over Alleged Rape, Cybercrime Offences
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared controversial Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, wanted over serious allegations including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The agency issued a public notice on Friday, calling on anyone with credible information about his whereabouts to come forward. According to the statement, Speed Darlington is being sought in connection with offences that potentially violate the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act (TIPPEA) 2015, as well as the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
This development comes after the artist allegedly failed to respond to a formal invitation sent by NAPTIP four weeks ago. The invitation followed the emergence of a disturbing Instagram live video that went viral earlier this week. In the footage, Speed Darlington reportedly admitted to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl and stated he gave her ₦2,000 afterward.
NAPTIP emphasized that the claims made in the video raised serious legal and ethical concerns. The agency said it had attempted to engage the artist for clarification and investigation, but he has remained unresponsive. The public is urged to contact NAPTIP through their official numbers (07030000203 and 627) or via email at [info@naptip.gov.ng](mailto:info@naptip.gov.ng).
