JUST IN: MTN Nigeria Shuts Down All Offices Nationwide
MTN Nigeria has announced the immediate closure of all its offices across the country starting today, July 30. This decision follows a series of vandalism incidents triggered by the company’s enforcement of the NIN-SIM linkage policy.
According to an MTN official, the closures are a response to recent attacks on their facilities by disgruntled customers. These customers were affected by the disconnection of their lines under the government’s new policy, leading to heightened frustration and property damage.
In a notable incident, customers in Festac Town, Lagos, forcibly dismantled the fence of an MTN office on Monday. The unrest was part of a broader backlash against the company’s actions, which have led to significant public discontent.
