JUST IN: FG Releases Automated Admissions Into Unity Colleges

The Federal Government has announced the release of admissions into Federal Unity Colleges, introducing a fully automated system aimed at ensuring fairness, efficiency, and improved learning conditions.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Federal Ministry of Education confirmed that the initiative was championed by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Boriowo Folasade, the reform eliminates past challenges of overstretched facilities by strictly adhering to each school’s approved capacity.

Dr. Alausa described the move as a major step toward accountability and equity in the nation’s education system.

“This reform guarantees fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in our Federal Unity Colleges,” the minister said.

The current admission round covers 80 conventional Unity Colleges at the Junior Secondary School (JSS1) level. The ministry noted that admissions into the remaining 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme will be announced later.

Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, Director of Senior Secondary Education in the Ministry, hailed the automation as a “game-changer,” emphasizing that it will align admissions with each school’s capacity while fostering a more conducive learning environment.

Parents, guardians, and students have been advised to check admission results on the Ministry’s official website: [www.education.gov.ng](http://www.education.gov.ng)

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to delivering quality education nationwide, assuring Nigerians of continuous reforms to strengthen teaching and learning in Federal Unity Colleges.
