JUST IN: Dangote Refinery Resumes Petrol Sales in Naira After 24-Hour Halt

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has resumed the sale of premium motor spirit (PMS) in Naira, less than 24 hours after it announced a suspension.

The decision to reverse the earlier notice came after the intervention of Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Chairman of the Naira for Crude Transaction Committee.

The Naira for Crude initiative, implemented by the federal government through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), aims to supply crude oil to domestic refineries. The program has faced challenges due to insufficient crude availability.

On Friday, Dangote Refinery had informed customers that it would halt PMS sales in Naira from Sunday, September 28, 2025, citing sales beyond its approved crude allocation. However, in a follow-up notice, the refinery confirmed that sales in Naira would continue immediately.

The notice to customers stated: “Following the intervention of the Naira for Crude Transaction Committee Chairman, we are pleased to inform you of the resumption of PMS Sales in Naira commencing immediately. You may kindly proceed to place your orders in Naira for both self-collection and free delivery of PMS to the earlier advised locations across the country. Thank you for your continued patronage.”
