JUST IN: Court Grants Hadi Sirika, Daughter, and Two Others ₦100m Bail Each
A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail of ₦100 million each to former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter, and two others, who are facing trial over an alleged fraud amounting to ₦2.7 billion.
The court specified that in addition to the bail sum, each defendant must provide two sureties possessing landed properties in Abuja. These sureties are required to be responsible citizens and must depose to an affidavit of means. Furthermore, the court has imposed travel restrictions on the defendants, prohibiting them from leaving the country without prior permission.
Justice Oriji, presiding over the case, emphasized that failure to meet these bail conditions would result in the defendants being remanded in prison custody.
The trial proceedings are scheduled to commence on the 10th, 11th, and 20th of June. As per the court’s directives, the sureties must possess landed properties within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with valid titles.
